We were invited to create an interior concept for “The Parlour”, a new boutique bar in the financial district of Frankfurt, Germany.
The design was inspired by a contemporary interpretation of an English parlour room, formerly denoted as an “audience chamber”. The design wants to break with communication barriers – as ordering drinks at a bar can often be guesswork. With communication being the main design principle, we created a counter almost as low as a table everyone can sit around. The leather sofa in the back of the room almost feels like sitting in a living room, bringing people together.
In 2013, The Parlour was named one of the 20 best bars in the world.
